Renowned conductor Pang Kapang joins Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra for the first time, presenting three iconic Chinese orchestral works: Liu Wenjin’s Jasmine, Kuan Nai-chung’s Symphony No. 4 and Liu Changyuan’s Chinese Symphony No.5 – Light, all compositions that blend familiar melodies with profound musical expression. As Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra and Suzhou Chinese Orchestra, Pang has pioneered Chinese music to European audiences, notably at the Golden Hall of Vienna’s Musikverein. Under his leadership, Suzhou Chinese Orchestra has risen to prominence as a dynamic young ensemble in just a few years. This concert includes works he recently premiered that will ignite new sparks with Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra!
