Recognized as one of the most charismatic pianists today, Chen Sa has been invited to collaborate with many leading orchestras in the world, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France, the WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the China Philharmonic Orchestra and more.
She has released ten albums in different parts of the world. Three solo studio albums were recorded by the Japanese labels JVC and IMC. Her live performances at two competitions were issued by the International Chopin Piano Competition and the French label Harmonia Mundi. They were soon followed by three albums under the Dutch label Pentatone, including two concertos and one Russian solo piece. She has also recorded a Chinese album called
Memories Lost for the Swedish label BIS. In pursuit of more freedom in creation and diversified discovery, she and her office ATELIERSA independently released the latest solo album
Claude Debussy's Préludes.
During the 2018-2019 season, Chen, as always, took her annual new series of repertoires around the world, touring Italy, France, UK, USA, the Mainland as well as the Hong Kong and Macao region. Her most high-profile performances include her debut at the Salzburger Festspiele, the performance at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg Piano Festival, and her debut at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.
Since 2016, Chen has been serving as an adjudicator at international piano contests, which include the 61st Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition, the 19th Leeds International Piano Competition, and the 18th International Chopin Piano Competition to be held in 2020.
