Owen Wong graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a major in Voice, trained under soprano Ella Kiang. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Music from the University of Wales, UK.
Wong often appears as a soloist in concerts. He has shared the concert stage with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and the Yao Yueh Chinese Music Association. He has also held solo recitals at the Hong Kong City Hall, Sha Tin Town Hall, Tsuen Wan Town Hall, Tuen Mun Town Hall and the North District Town Hall.
Wong has appeared on the cast of more than 100 locally produced musicals and drama productions, serving as actor, singing coach and music director. The groups he has worked with include the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Hong Kong Dance Company, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the Hong Kong Arts Festival, Chung Ying Theatre Company, Spring-time Stage Productions, Actors’ Family and Windmill Grass Theatre. He was the conductor of the Academy musical, Fame, and the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre musical, Hello, Dolly!.
Wong is currently teaching at the School of Drama of the HKAPA and the Hong Kong Institute of Education.
